Pneumatic components can be further divided into air handling components, pneumatic valves, hydraulic cylinders, etc. The chemical industry, machinery and automobiles, food and beverage processing and packaging, electronics industry, oil and natural gas, etc. are the main application areas of pneumatic components.

Although my country's pneumatic industry has reached a certain scale and technical level, it is still far behind the international level. The total output value of pneumatic products in my country has only reached 1.3% of the world, which is only 1/21 of the United States, 1/15 of Japan, and 1/8 of Germany. Among the world's top ten most influential pneumatic component companies, FESTO, SMC, Parker, CKD, Koganei, JSC, Rexroth, Norgren, TPC, and AirTAC, none of them are Chinese mainland companies. And there is a clear gap in product performance and quality levels.

As pneumatic technology is increasingly used in automatic assembly in various industries, automatic processing of small parts and some special items, the performance of traditional pneumatic components is constantly improving, and new products adapted to the market are also being developed, making the weight of products increasing day by day.

For China, the primary development of pneumatic components is to be miniaturized and lightweight. This type of pneumatic components can be better used in industries such as medicine and electronic components. In addition, foreign countries have also developed solenoid valves that are the size of a thumb and have an effective area of only 10mm², and are also trying to develop components with small dimensions and large flow.

According to the forecast for 2023-2030, the industries that promote pneumatic component technology will mainly focus on the food and beverage industry. Therefore, pneumatic transmission systems will be increasingly used in food transportation, and control valves and pneumatic actuators will also be increasingly used, thus driving the growth of the global pneumatic industry.
