The function of the air source triplet

  • 21

In the automation industry, compressed air is an essential step. Especially in the oil and gas industry, plants are often at risk of costly downtime due to dirty and improperly maintained air compression systems. The emergence of air filters is very good at filtering out solid pollutants, water droplets and unclean oil droplets in air compression, while reducing energy costs and downtime.

The air source triple component is composed of an air filter, a pressure reducing valve and a lubricator, which provides a dry, stable air source and better lubrication for pneumatic equipment. It is the final guarantee of compressed air quality.

Air filter: It can filter the compressed air, filter out the moisture, oil and dust, prevent moisture from entering the device with the gas, and protect the equipment.

Pressure reducing valve: It is mainly used to control the pressure of the system, stabilize the air source pressure, and keep the air source in a constant state. This can reduce damage to hardware such as valves or actuators due to sudden changes in the air source pressure.

Oil mist device: The oil mist device can be used to lubricate some internal moving parts that are inconvenient to add lubricating oil, which can greatly extend the service life of the machine body.

Notes on use:

1. There are two ways of draining the filter: differential pressure drainage and manual drainage. When draining manually, it must be drained before the water level reaches the level below the filter element.

2. Installation sequence: Starting from the inflow end of the air source, connect the air filter, pressure reducing valve, and lubricator one at a time. The direction of the arrow on the component housing is the direction of the air flow. Reverse connection is not allowed.

3. The air filter and lubricator must be installed vertically with the cup side facing down.

4. When using a pressure reducing valve, try to avoid using the lower limit of the pressure regulating range and select an appropriate pressure reducing valve according to the operating pressure requirements.
